SME Education Foundation youth programs are designed to arouse young learners’ interest in science, technology, engineering and math by offering exciting and challenging hands-on projects in a fun, team building environment.

To address the stereotypical image of manufacturing that exists in the United States, the SME Education Foundation continues to produce innovative video and marketing materials that counter this erroneous negative image.


This exciting and innovative new resource, designed by the National Center for Manufacturing Education (NCME) in partnership with the SME Education Foundation, is designed to encourage and provide young people in grades 11-14 with information they need on careers in advanced manufacturing.
Having difficulty determining which U.S. colleges and universities offer courses in advanced manufacturing? Need technical expertise to help you with your next project, or curious about bio-manufacturing, automation, global supply chains or lean manufacturing? You’ll find access to mentors, information about plant tours, summer camps and scholarships in one place and updated in real time.
Visit colleges and universities offering advanced manufacturing programs – by state and region; business and industries involved in the development of advanced technologies, access to technical experts, presentations and videos, projects created and posted by students, and companies offering mentoring, onsite visits, plant tours and interact with engineering professionals. A social media component allows you set up your own account, connect with classrooms across the country, and interact with peers, teachers and counselors, business and industry.
Funding for the creation and maintenance of CareerMe.org website is provided by the SME Education Foundation to the National Center for Manufacturing Education (NCME). Their collaborative partners include the Academy of Engineering (AOE), Project Lead the Way, Inc. (PLTW), the National Academy Foundation (NAF), and the National Action Council for Minorities in Engineering, Inc. (NACME).
