Jeffersontown High School, Louisville, KY Jeffersontown High School has a clearly defined purpose that drives all stakeholders on a daily basis. Our purpose is to actively engage every student in a professional career academy, to develop a student’s passion for school and a specific pathway to success, and employ standards based teaching and learning. We work hard to involve staff, students, parents, and the community with the teaching and learning of our school. Community involvement is very important to our school, including business partnerships with the city of Jeffersontown and businesses in the Louisville community. Our career academies consist of Design, Build, Lead, and Create. The Design and Build academies include the following engineering and manufacturing pathways: Project Lead the Way (PLTW), Computer-Aided Design and Drafting, Welding, Machine Tool Technology, and Industrial Maintenance Technology. Design and Build academies have been named a Ford Next Generation Learning school in which improvements towards college and career readiness will continue through teacher externships, cohort scheduling, and ILP and data enhancements.
