Unadilla Valley High School is making vast strides in implementing the SME PRIME (Partnership
Response in Manufacturing Education) program since being temporarily thrown off course by
the COVID-19 pandemic.

Students at Apollo High School — in St. Cloud, Minnesota — will be better able to discover and pursue career opportunities in the manufacturing field with the school’s new SME PRIME (Partnership Response in Manufacturing Education) program.
The SME Education Foundation and its partners Stratasys and Tooling U-SME demonstrated advanced manufacturing technology to more than 11,000 students, teachers and administrators at the IMTS Smartforce Student Summit, held in September at McCormick Place in Chicago.
A recent scholarship from the SME Education Foundation is helping Suraju Lawal, a
41-year-old aircraft mechanic, pursue his dream of being an aviation design engineer.

creating a machine-repair career pathway, implementing new courses, and providing
students with training experience using a Festo equipment training system.
As one of the first recipients of SME’s new Irving P. McPhail Scholarship, Brayden Miller is pursuing an associate degree in electrical and mechanical engineering at Rose State College. From there, he plans to transfer to a four-year university to get a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering.
